Knee pain... Is it meniscus or arthritis?

Knee pain is very common among all the populations whether  you're 20 or 60 it doesn't matter and all what you'll hear it's arthritis or meniscus.

Lets have a chat:

1- Meniscus

Meniscus injury happens after a trauma to the knee especially if it's a rotational trauma (foot planted and the leg rotated).

The question is I did MRI and the report says I have meniscal tear and I didn't have any trauma how that can be?

The reality is MRI is sensitive but not specific means it can detect lesions but can't tell exactly what's going on ( I'm trying to make it simple).

P.S.: medial knee pain when it happens without direct trauma to the knee is 100% caused either because of the back, hip or the foot.

2- Arthritis:

The most common word I hear  from my patients is "arthritis" the doctor said I have arthritis. The surprise is young and older patients say the same which always makes me wonder what does in reality mean

For me when some tells me I have arthritis i consider it as a pain and stiffness. Arthritis is a very broad expression.

The most important question is: what are the things you're not able to do now because of this pain or stiffness and how to put you back to doing them?. and the second important question will be what's the root cause of that? the third question is how to put you back to do what you love?

P.S.: I don't think you care about terminology than these questions.
